Who is Balsam?

I am a singer, writer, teacher, and co-creator living in New Jersey, USA.

My background and education spans a broad range of the arts and healing arts. I took my BA in English Literature at the University of Toronto, and went on to apply my writing skills in a 15-year career as a widely published journalist and editor in the field of holistic wellness and nutrition.

I have a Third Degree certification in Traditional Japanese Reiki, and have extensively studied the use of flower essences and essential oils. I am an expert practitioner of kinesiology (muscle testing) and am currently developing educational materials teaching a muscle testing modality called Therapeutic Kinesiology.

In the arts, I have studied music composition, vocal technique, and improvised movement and dance. I also pursue knowledge of the internal spiritual arts of Taoism and Tantra. I have been an avid student of the art and science of co-creativity since 1991.

I have lived a very rich and challenging life to date. I have saved my own life many times over! My trials and tribulations led me, on my 40th birthday, to declare that I would dedicate the rest of my life to becoming the most loving person I could be. This promise made to myself and all life provides me with constant guidance and challenge.
